Its showtime!

One thing about living with a working musician is you need to quickly adjust your lifestyle with different working conditions. There are perks that are awesome, but there is also that time (acid hour - between 5-8) when you are really trying to get everyone in bed or ready for bed at some stage later. Yesterday was one of those times that were just unsuccessful. You're outnumbered as a parent 2 to 1 and your just hanging in there. You get your youngest into bed and yourself successfully at 9 o'clock (as he is 11) and you are exhausted. Lights out, Electronic devices OFF, only to find yourself rudely awakened at 10.30 with the 11 year old running around the house completely wired performing martial arts nunchucku moves with his weapons. When you scream - Why are you out of bed - you are confronted with "Its Bruce Lee, mum. There is a bruce lee movie on the TV." You are left wondering how the hell the Bruce Lee movie turned itself on and got your child out of bed when you realise your 14 year old came down stairs after completing their homework and turned the TV on way louder than it needed to. Fuming you tell both children off and let them know there will be a punishment associated with this behaviour. After arguing for several minutes everyone is back in bed. Exhausted you climb back into bed now wide awake and wish for sleep. After all this is a first world problem...

A quilt in a day....

Ok well maybe not a quilt in a day but a quilt top in a day.. Which is as good as the entire thing in my book. I've been so jealous of those amazing mums for so long that just whip up a quilt when the need arises, that I finally caved in and gave it a go myself. And yes the result so far is simply stunning... Although I'll need to tell honey it is not hers.... Lol

My baby is at high school!!!

Where has the time gone... Well I rarely blog these days. disgusting I know however I'm feeling this post is really necessary at the moment. My darling daughter is at high school and if I can tell her what I know now it is (in order of priority):

  1. Smile!!! You are soooooo loved!!!
  2. Be confident
  3. Be kind
  4. Focus on your study
  5. Dont over try to find new friends as the right people will find you!!!

And most importantly Mummy and Daddy love you more than we can explain to you! One day you will know when you have your own baby how much that is!!!

Ok so my baby sister is getting married this Saturday. There has already been a major wardrobe change by for the flower girl. OMG!!! It just brings out the best in everyone doesn't it??? I'd say this video from a few years ago sums it up nicely: Bride Massive Hair Wig Out A good old fashioned family freakin' wedding. My father has already been told to rewrite his speech along with sequins being banned from within a 20 km radius of the wedding site, which incidently is at Montsalvat.

Check it out: Montsalvat

This is the oldest art's residence in Australia and it is stunning, apparently built in the 1890's... I will keep everyone posted. I will begin drinking promptly at 10.00am I'd say just to make sure all conversations go as well as can be expected with my relations and extended family. Basically we are going to chill and kick back for a while and just do what Beth said here: "melbourne zoo by Beth". Why? well because she has great advice.
